Udruženje Hemofiličara Bosne i Hercegovine, our Bosnian and Herzegovinian NMO, organised its Annual General Assembly on 22 December 2024. The assembly had over 60 active members present, hence reaching the quorum. As it was an election year, the membership has elected its next steering committee, which includes some returning members such as Amar Muratović as President and Admir Mehić as Secretary.
Dr. Emina Suljević gave a presentation on the progress of the screening project for individuals with mild haemophilia and other rare bleeding disorders, within the framework of the grant awarded to the Haemophilia Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the EHC. It is important to highlight that, through activities in the past period, around 100 new patients with von Willebrand disease have been diagnosed.
As a member of the Federal Haemophilia Commission at the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute, Dr. Suljević presented the current situation regarding the procurement of medications used for treating individuals with bleeding disorders to the attending members of the association. A lecture was also given by nurses from the University Clinical Center Sarajevo: Olja Brkić and Sija Tihić-Ahmetović, on the topic of collaborative work and activities between healthcare staff and patients.
Our Bosnian and Herzegovinian NMO announced that, for the first time, the Annual Global Survey by the World Federation of Hemophilia has been fully completed, in collaboration with the Center of Banja Luka of the University Clinical Center Sarajevo.
