The EHC has released a new children’s book, Emma and the Playhouse, designed to help children affected by von Willebrand Disease (VWD) explain their condition to family, friends, and teachers. The book is now available for download on the EHC Community website.
Written by Cathy Verbraeken and illustrated by Mariana Ostanik, with guidance from the EHC VWD Committee, the book serves a dual purpose: supporting children with VWD in sharing their experiences and helping children without the condition develop understanding and compassion for their peers.
The hard copy of the book was officially launched at the EHC VWD Summit in Riga, Latvia, in September 2025. It is now accessible in three formats: a stapled softcover brochure, a hardcover glued edition, and an ebook. Both printed editions can be downloaded through the EHC Community website.
