The Serbian Haemophilia Society (UHS) held its annual National Conference from 29 to 31 August 2025 at the Zepter Hotel in Vrnjačka Banja, Serbia. For decades, this event has been UHS’ central gathering, bringing together members from across Serbia, medical specialists, partner organisations, and international collaborators to review progress, set new goals, and advance care for people with bleeding disorders.
Programme Highlights
Over three days, participants attended lectures, discussions, and interactive sessions on the latest therapies for adults and children, dental and orthopaedic care, and the challenges of ageing with haemophilia. A multidisciplinary session led by a haematologist, orthopaedist, and physiatrist stressed the value of teamwork in managing haemophilic arthropathy. A session on the rights of people with rare diseases also encouraged exchange with wider patient advocacy groups.
Annual Assembly
The conference concluded with UHS General Assembly, where reports were presented by all committees and important decisions made for the year ahead. New members were elected: Milana Vejin and Aleksandra Ilijin joined the Executive Board, while Aleksandar Blagojević joined the Supervisory Board. Special thanks were extended to outgoing members Stefan Radovanović and Damjan Dević for their years of service.
Acknowledgements
Beyond the formal programme, the conference fostered personal connections and strengthened solidarity within the community. UHS expressed its gratitude to the European Haemophilia Consortium and pharmaceutical partners for their ongoing support.
