On June 7, 2025, EHC President Miguel Crato, along with members of the EHC Medical Advisory Group (MAG), Prof Ana Boban and Dr Christoph Königs, participated virtually in the Belarus Haemophilia Society’s Conference on Treatment in Bleeding Disorders.
Miguel Crato welcomed the participants and expressed deep appreciation for the important work being carried out by the Belarusian Haemophilia Society in advancing care and treatment for people with haemophilia and other bleeding disorders in the country:
“The strength of the patient community, combined with close collaboration with dedicated healthcare professionals, is what enables real progress. At the same time, effective cooperation between patient organisations and national health authorities is essential to ensure that the voices of people with bleeding disorders are heard, their needs addressed, and access to timely, high-quality care is improved through informed, patient-centred policies.”
He also emphasised the crucial importance of international collaboration, highlighting that it plays a vital role in facilitating knowledge exchange and advancing treatment for bleeding disorders worldwide.
Prof Ana Boban delivered a presentation on emerging treatment options for von Willebrand Disease and extremely rare bleeding disorders. Dr Christoph Königs shared insights on current haemophilia treatments and recent developments in the field.
The presentations by the EHC MAG members were warmly received and sparked rich, in-depth discussions among attendees.
