Mental health is crucial for patients living with bleeding disorders as it significantly impacts their overall well-being and ability to manage their condition. Good mental health can help them cope with the stress, anxiety, and potential social isolation associated with their disorder, leading to better treatment adherence and improved quality of life. Addressing mental health is essential for holistic care and optimal health outcomes.
The EHC is prioritising mental health in its current strategic plan, recognising its vital role in the well-being of individuals with bleeding disorders. To this end, a Mental Health Working Group will be established, aiming to survey the community about their mental health needs. This initial survey will provide essential insights, enabling the EHC to address these needs effectively. More information and related projects will be announced soon, underscoring the EHC’s commitment to comprehensive care for those affected by haemophilia and other bleeding disorders.
